Applying QA processes and procedures without pragmatic perspective of an experienced IT practitioner might resemble both putting armor on a prospective olympic swimmer or equipping donkey with a race saddle. Effects on the performance and quality of a ride will be disappointing in the same manner as a day-to-day reality of software development to a developer expecting unlimited time frames and budget covering any tools he or she chooses to familiarize with. Quality may be assured in an cost and time-effective way. The key is a well motivated and trained group of meticulous professionals having both understanding of QA and some breathing space for optimizations.
